On Jan 31 weekend, the Vietnamese Catholic Church of Orlando, St Philip Phan van minh hosted their annual Vietnamese New Year Festival at the Central Florida Fairgrounds for 2015 – the year of the goat/sheep. The festival is full of Vietnamese street food vendors, playground and game area for kids, performances and cultural shows, and much more. Some of our favorite items this year were the banh cuon, rice crepes stuffed with mushroom and pork, the sugarcane juice, the bun bo hue spicy beef rice noodle soup, and the chao long, rice porridge with offal. Still did not try the hot vit lon duck fetus egg though. Too scary for us. (See http://tastychomps.com/2015/01/guideto-celebrating-chinesevietnamese-lunar-newyear-in-orlando-2015.html).
