To celebrate Taiwanese pitcher Wei-Yin Chen joining the MLB team, Overseas Community Affairs Council co-held a special event “Taiwanese Heritage Night” with the Marlins on July 29th at the Marlins Park. Sponsored by Tourism Bureau, Marlins gave away commemorative jersey shirts for those who purchased the special event tickets.

During the game, Taipei Economic and Culture Office (TECO) Director General Philip Wang and TECO staffs handed out large Taiwanese flags and hand-held flags, and also brought out the Taiwanese religious folk icon, the Third Prince (三太子).  The night gave the audience a taste of Taiwan’s unique culture, hoping to attract more people to visit the beautiful island.
