The Dolls of Japan: Shape of Prayer, Embodiments of Love

Location: Campus Art Gallery, Miami Dade College - North Campus Miami, FL Exhibit Dates: April 25 - June 1, 2018 This exhibition, on loan from The Japan Foundation 国際交流基金, showcases Japan's representative dolls, including Hina ningyo (Girls’ Festival dolls) and Gogatsu ningyo (Boys’ Day dolls), which have their origins in ancient customs; dolls connected to traditional performing arts like noh, bunraku; regional dolls from throughout Japan; and ‘creative dolls’ produced by contemporary craftspeople.
