Cities like Sydney\, London\, New York\, Los Angeles\, and San Francisco have held many successful Lunar New Year Parades that attract thousands of attendees each year. \nThe Year of the Dog marks the 7th annual Central Florida Dragon Parade Lunar New Year Festival held in Orlando\, Florida. This event has received overwhelming response from local and distant communities alike.   Again this year\, Asia Trend Magazine is partnering with Mills 50 (an Orlando Main Street District)\, R.E.A.C.H. (Recognizing Educating Asian Cultural Heritage) and Y.E.S.S. (Youth Enrichment and Senior Services) to host the Dragon Parade Lunar New Year Festival on Sunday\, February 25 from 11:00am to 5:00pm at 728 N. Thornton Ave.\, Orlando\, FL 32803. \nThe festival parade starts at the corner of N Thornton Ave and Oregon St and will end at N. Thornton Ave and Colonial Drive. DESCRIPTION:With the start of the new year comes our annual cultural show\, Tết! Tết is the most important national holiday in Vietnam and marks the first day of spring. It also marks the beginning of the new year in the lunar calendar. Tết gives people the opportunity to spend time with their families and pay their respects to their deceased ancestors. Children receive lì xì\, which is lucky money that can bring good fortune to the new year. Families will often clean their homes before the new year to symbolize sweeping away the bad luck to give room for good luck. Tết also introduces a new animal in the Vietnamese zodiac\, as each is year is related to one of twelve animals in the zodiac. This year’s show theme is “Embark on a New Year\,” which represents the dog in the zodiac. The theme\, which is not only a play on words on dogs\, but also represents the fresh beginnings that come with the new year. The dog\, which represents faithfulness and loyalty\, is what one should aspire to attain in the new year. \nThe Vietnamese Student Organization would like invite you\, your friends and family to our annual lunar new year show\, Tết. DESCRIPTION:Vietnamese New Year Festival (VNYF) is the most important traditional event in Vietnamese culture. This year\, we celebrate our VNYF on the January 27th (10AM – 12AM)\, and 28th (10AM – 5PM)\, 2018 at Central Florida Fairgrounds\, 4603 W. Colonial Dr. Orlando\, FL 32808.And guess what? FREE ADMISSION!We organize this event to promote our customs and traditional dishes of our Vietnamese people. You will have a chance to taste many of our special dishes from all regions of Viet Nam (North\, Central\, and South). If you love soup-based dishes\, we have Pho and Bun Bo Hue. We also have Banh Cuon (Steamed Rice Crepe)\, Grilled Meat\, Vietnamese Eggrolls\, Vietnamese Sweets\, and Boba. These dishes will not only feast your eyes but also fill your tummies. Besides the food adventure\, you will get to enjoy our special performances including singing\, contemporary dances\, and musical plays. \nIn addition\, we also have a Kids’ Game Center\, including Carnival Games in-house and a bouncing house out-door\, awaiting our winners with appealing prizes. Coming to the VNYF will give you a satisfying experience of feeling like an authentic Vietnamese by relishing our cuisine\, watching the traditional performances\, and observing our customs. We truly look forward to seeing you on January 27th and 28th\, 2018\, so we can embark our journey together to Vietnam. \n
