This will also be PCFI’s Philippine Independence Day offering in lieu of the Philippine Independence Day Celebration scheduled on the same date. \n“Padayaw” is Leyte Dance Theater’s production offering for its 2023 USA tour. The term is derived from “Padayon sa Pagsayaw”\, meaning continue dancing. The last time that group visited the Tampa Bay Area was in April of 2018\, when it presented “Salida”. The show is presented by the Philippine Cultural Foundation\, Inc. (PCFI) for the restoration of the Barangay Pavilion. They will occur at the Bayanihan Arts & Events Center on Saturday\, June 3\, 2023\, starting at 2 PM.\n\nOne of the many collections to be featured is Edgar San Diego’s “Ipininta\, Inimprenta at Ipinorma\,” This is a product of modern technology where everything seems possible. My techi artist made 2 sets of collages of my painting. One is a gathering of works with Flower subjects which I printed on white. The scattered half-tone flowers on the background were picked up from the different paintings.\n\n\nAnd the second is a gathering of paintings with yellow ocher backgrounds ( mostly sunset scenes)\, which I printed on beige just with a striped background. This year’s celebration will showcase a wide variety of Asian American cultures and talents from Central Florida’s Asian American ethnic groups. There will be booths to showcase business vendors\, ethnic cuisines and merchandise that are representative of Asia.
