Throughout these 31 years\, VASA has served to help the Vietnamese community within UCF and the Orlando area. The organization was first established as a place for Vietnamese refugees attending UCF. It served as pillar of unity for refugees to feel welcome\, safe\, and loved in a new foreign land. As the years passed\, VASA grew into an organization to promote Vietnamese cultural awareness as a newer generation of Vietnamese Americans emerged. Currently\, the Vietnamese American Student Association’s main goals are to promote cultural awareness and promote Vietnamese culture within the UCF community. We strive to instill pride and a sense of culture within Vietnamese Americans today. \nOur CPP (Collective Philanthropy Project): Pacific Links Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps fight against human trafficking by investing comprehensively in at-risk youths and their communities to prevent trafficking specifically in Vietnam\, but spreading world-wide. Their primary goal is to encourage sustainable development in Vietnamese communities through community building and knowledge transfer between professionals in Vietnam and in the developed world. This third largest event in Tallahassee is free to the public and features Asian Performances\, Demonstrations\, Cuisine\, Arts & Crafts\, Artists and More! Every year we have the privilege to host Matsuriza\, the famous Japanese drummers from Disney World in Orlando\, Florida. Other performers have come from around the world including China\, India\, and Taiwan. Our festival sports two stages simultaneously running with performances throughout the day and we estimate attendance of 15\,000-25\,000. Experience Asia is a family friendly event with something for everyone from kids to adults.
