From practicing strategic restraint in the past\, India is now willing to use force to achieve deterrence against terrorism\, even under the shadow of nuclear weapons. It has significant implications for India’s military strategy\, diplomacy\, and international relations. Does the conflict reinforce India’s rise or dampen it? Even if India’s rise may be inevitable\, how does the crisis with Pakistan shape how it wields power in pursuit of its national interests? As India grows in economic strength and geopolitical influence\, does it now see military force as an essential tool rather than a last resort? Does India use its international partnerships to reinforce its power projection\, or does the growing multipolarity mean India will be alone in its quest for security? Does regional instability hinder India’s ascent\, or does it offer an opportunity to demonstrate its ability to manage conflicts on its terms?
