Hendry has recently joined ClearOne Badminton Centre in Orlando and ClearOne is now able to offer world-class badminton training to all levels of badminton enthusiasts. Orlando is following in the tradition set by its sister locations up in Western Canada, where world-class coaching has been offered for the last 10 years.
Coach Hendry hails from Indonesia where he was one the top Indonesian Juniors by the age of 18 and went on to play and coach at the national level in Spain. Hendry’s accomplishments are extensive and a selection includes:
• Surabaya Cup U19 Champion (the best Under 19 player in Indonesia)
• Spanish League Champion
• 4-time Spanish League Finalist with CB IES LA ORDEN
• Jakarta Open U19 Finalist
• Pakistan International Finalist
• Toulouse International Semi-finalist
• Portuguese International Semi-finalist
Hendry aims at growing the sport on the eastern seaboard of the US as well as the entire Pan American region in a similar way in which it has exploded in California over the last 10 years. Hendry coaches group lessons and private lessons to all levels and to all ages throughout the week. Many of Florida’s badminton enthusiasts are lining up to learn from ClearOne’s Master Coach.
ClearOne Orlando has produced numerous National champions at the 2013 National Masters Tournament in the Adult 40+, 45+ and 50+ categories. The aim is to achieve similar results with the junior categories from under 9 to under 19, and ultimately produce World and Olympic level players.
Badminton and sports enthusiasts will get an opportunity to see World and Olympic level players this November as ClearOne will play host to the 2013 YONEX USA INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE. Many Pan-American Champions, as well as International players from around the world will travel to Orlando as one of their International tour stops. It will be the first time an International Challenge level tournament will take place in Florida giving many future 2016 Olympic hopefuls the chance to earn important world ranking points.
ClearOne envisions Orlando to be a future Pan-American Training Centre with interest from surrounding areas of Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Peru, Guatemala, Brazil and Mexico being some of the top nations. With the arrival of ClearOne’s world-class coaching and its close proximity to all the badminton nations mentioned above, it is a natural fit to have a Pan-Am training centre in the city of Orlando.
Winners need nurturing and ClearOne is starting this process early with badminton classes as well as the start of Summer Camps commencing the beginning of July which will offer both badminton and table tennis. Students will receive coaching from Hendry in Badminton and Hung Tran (President of the Central Florida Table Tennis Club, and one of only 2 recognized coaches in the USA to hold a world coaching certificate in Table Tennis). Kids will certainly enjoy their time with these two coaches!
