On Feb 8, Asia Trend was invited to join the Orlando HanQing Tai Chi Culture and Art Center for their Chinese New Year celebration at Royal Harbor community center in Tavares.

Tai Chi instructor Grace Liu, together with her students and friends, prepared fresh dumplings (jiaozi) for all the guests. The gathering was also graced by special guests: Ms. LiLing Lee, President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Greater Orlando (TCCGO 大奧蘭多臺灣商會), along with Honorary Presidents Ms. Mary Liang Sheridan and Ms. Anita Hsu.

After a delicious lunch, Grace and her students presented Tai Chi demonstrations and vocal performances, filling the afternoon with artistry, culture, and joy.

Representing Asia Trend, Gary CK Lau and Camilla Kung presented Grace Liu with an appreciation gift in recognition of many years of partnership. In return, Grace gifted Gary and Shally a set of beautiful Tai Chi costumes — a heartfelt gesture of friendship. It was a truly wonderful Sunday afternoon celebrating the Year of the Horse with this warm and welcoming Tai Chi community.

Dumplings (饺子, jiǎozi) are shaped like ancient Chinese gold or silver ingots, symbolising wealth and prosperity for the coming year. The act of making and eating dumplings during this festival is a familial activity, embodying the hopes for a prosperous and fortunate year ahead.
