Asia Trend is proud to announce the 2021 MegaCon Orlando featuring Asian Cultural Expo sponsored by WasabiCon Anime. Fans will have the opportunity to experience and learn some Asian culture and trends with Thuyen May Productions, Orlando Taiko Dojo, Gateway to Japan Inc. Rising Sun Dojo, Orlando HanQing Tai Chi Culture and Art Center, and Henna by Priya.
MegaCon, the Southeast’s largest fan convention, returns to the Orange County Convention Center Thursday, Aug 12 through Sunday, Aug 15.

August 13 Friday 3 pm at Room W311E Kpop fans! Join this discussion about the bands and culture behind Korean pop music. Share info about your favorite artists, and maybe learn about others you haven’t discovered yet. Presented in part by Asia Trend.
2. LEARN ORIGAMI
August 14 Saturday 12:45 pm at Room W310A The Japanese art of paper folding (origami) is something fans of pop culture readily recognize in anime, manga, and even science fiction films like Blade Runner. Join the team from Central Florida’s Asia Trend organization as they teach this all ages workshop suitable for beginners and those already familiar with the art form. Supplies will be provided.
3. TAI CHI DEMONSTRATION AND WORKSHOP
August 15 Sunday 12 pm at Room W311E Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. Stop by for a Tai Chi demonstration and workshop presented by the Orlando HanQing Tai Chi Culture and Art Center in association with Asia Trend.
4. TAIKO DRUM DEMONSTRATION AND WORKSHOP
August 15 Sunday 2:30 pm at Room W311E Orlando Taiko Dojo is a Japanese drumming troupe who actively performs at events all across Central Florida. They demonstrate the traditional art of Japanese drums known as “Taiko.” Taiko drums were used in battlefields and have been used in religious ceremonies and festivals for over 2000 years in Japan. Stop by to see a live demonstration and workshop about this musical art form followed by a live performance! Presented in part by Asia Trend.
5. ORLANDO TAIKO DOJO LIVE!
August 15 Sunday 3 pm at Room W311E Orlando Taiko Dojo presents a live performance for MEGACON attendees! Immerse yourself in the energy and excitement of the traditional art of Japanese drums known as “Taiko.” Presented in part by Asia Trend.
