FKA Twigs newly released a music video for her ‘MAGDALENE’ track ‘Sad Day’, MV directed by Hiro Murai, best known for his director work on Atlanta and collaborations with Donald Glover.
The video for ‘Sad Day’ was filmed in Twigs’ hometown of London. The video comes three years since Twigs began training in the Chinese martial art of Wushu under the guidance of Master Wu of the Shaolin Wushu Centre.
Hiro Murai is a Japanese-born American filmmaker based out of Los Angeles. He serves as an executive producer and director for the critically acclaimed FX series.
Tribute to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The sword fighting scenes in “Sad Day” pay tribute to the most familiar martial arts movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”. The chasing of martial arts under the circumstances, marching on the water surface, is a good evolution of the battle of bamboo forest in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”.
