Chinese New Year Celebration in Gainesville UF

This FREE event is a collaboration between the UF Chinese Culture Club and Yucai Chinese in Gainesville.

1:30 – 3:20 PM: children and families
3:40 – 5:30 PM: college students and adults

Join us at Yucai Chinese School this Chinese New Year to experience some fun (and tasty!) traditional Chinese New Year activities, and learn about the history of this important Chinese holiday as well.

We’ll be ringing in the new year by making dumplings, writing Chinese couplets (traditional wall decorations), decorating opera masks, tieing Chinese knots, and tasting some excellent Chinese tea and desserts. Each activity will have it’s own station, so make sure to try them all!
