THE PUPA AND LITTLE YELLOW DUCK

1455

Let’s enjoy reading another pleasing fable from ‘The Adventures of Little Yellow Duck’

One day a small opening appeared on a cocoon. Yellow duck sat and watched the butterfly for several hours to see it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Suddenly, the butterfly stopped progress. It seemed that it tried its best and could not any more.

So Yellow Duck decided to help the butterfly out of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily, but its body was thin and its wings were shrunken.

Yellow Duck kept looking, expecting that at any moment, the wings would open, and will be stretched – and thus support the butterfly’s body.

But it did not happen!

In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a withered body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

Yellow Duck, with all its grace and kindness, did not understand that the pupa’s struggle to get out is the natural way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so it can fly once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!

Is this how you want the story to end?

Another version tells that Yellow Duck did its best to encourage it with words of love, so the butterfly stretched its wings more and more until all could see it in all its glory and it began flying to the delight of all, and the two went for a tour in the field on a nice sunny day.
