AI Supercomputer Boosts the Revenue Growth of the Kaohsiung Software Park

Recently, the Kaohsiung Software Park (KSP) welcomed the establishment of NVIDIA’s “Taipei-1 AI Supercomputer Advanced Computing Center,” not only driving an investment frenzy in the “Asia New Bay Area” but also bringing positive benefits to the operations of KSP. The Bureau of the Industrial Parks (BIPs) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) indicated that from January to April this year, Phase I of the KSP saw a revenue growth of 33.4%. The first building of Phase II is also set to announce pre-registration this year and has been asked a lot. The BIPs urged all information software companies to seize investment opportunities, actively make reservations for occupancy, and enter the future hot spot of the AI industry.

The Director of BIPs, Yang, Po-Keng, pointed out that benefiting from the AI trend, Phase I of the KSP achieved revenues of NT$3.25 billion from January to April, reaching a new high in nearly 8 years. Observing specific industries, the “information software” and “digital content” industries have achieved revenues of NT$1.21 billion and NT$460 million respectively so far this year, with growth rates of 33% and 35%, showing remarkable performance. The “smart applications” industry has been even more outstanding, achieving revenues of NT$1.12 billion year-to-date, a record high for the same period in history, with a staggering annual growth rate of 70%, demonstrating successful strategic positioning of innovative industries in the Kaohsiung Software Park, promising future operational growth.

Furthermore, the BIP further stated that Phase I of the KSP is currently fully utilized. To accommodate more information software companies, BIP prompting active development of Phase II. The BIP is actively constructing the first building, “Asia Bay Smart Technology Building,” which will add approximately 10,000 level ground of industrial space and obtain dual certifications for green and smart buildings. It is expected to become a landmark building in the Asia New Bay Area. In addition, the Asia Bay Smart Technology Building will introduce smart technology applications to provide high-quality operational space for 5G AIOT. Future tenants of this building will not only benefit from the clustering advantages of the software industry but also enjoy convenient one-stop administrative services and access to academic and research units in the KSP, providing services such as technology upgrades, resource connections, business opportunity matching, and talent cultivation nearby, enabling resident companies to continuously enhance their competitiveness and strategically position themselves in future AI business opportunities.
