A TOWER WITH ITS HEAD IN THE SKY

1980

If people do not have a spiritual ideal, if people act for purely selfish reasons, not only it will not unite them, but eventually it will bring to a greater separation. Read next and find out why cooperation and humility are so important for us as individuals and as a species.

Two friends decided to compete.

Who will be the one to build a tower with its head in the sky?

They collected bricks and dug underground; sabotaged each other, day and night.

Bang! Crash!

Destruction and ruin; the towers collapsed. Plans crashed.

So between the wrecks, they sat back to back, a single thought in their minds

– to win.

Two kids decided to compete.

Who will be the one to build a tower with its head in the sky?

They collected bricks and dug underground; sabotaged each other, day and night.

Thunder and lightning, sweeping rain and fire.

Bang! Crash!

Destruction and ruin; the towers collapsed. Plans crashed.

Then the sun appeared behind the clouds, and a colorful rainbow decorated the sky.

So between the wrecks, they stood hand in hand, a single thought in their hearts

– to wonder and admire.

Two friends have made it to build a tower with its head in the sky.

Skyscrapers! The competition over height is characteristic of a nation in its adolescent stage. Climbing high is not any longer just a matter of power and money, but also ecology. In a crowded urban world height is real estate. That’s why, in many ways, the violent (and one must say, critical) attack on the Twin Towers in New York was an attack on the entire world.

Morality and message in the story – A TOWER AND ITS HEAD IN THE SKY

  • Cooperation is better than competition.
  • It’s okay to be ambitious, yet one has to be peaceful and serene.
  • It’s okay to be curious, yet one has to be modest.

When we examine the purpose of the construction of the towers for the first time, we see that the tower builders were only interested in one goal, glorify their names. They were united for one purpose, but it was not an elevating goal but rather materialistic focusing only on their own. Such unity is doomed to end in disaster. If people do not have a spiritual ideal, if people act for purely selfish reasons, not only it will not unite them, but eventually it will bring to a greater separation as happened in the first time.

In the second time forces of nature intervened, lightning and swiping rain until both towers fell.

For the third time the tower builders united, but now they began to infuse spirituality into rebuilding. This was true unity.

Once these two friends started to understand their nature and the nature of the world, namely the laws acting in nature, these learned what was wrong and what they should do next to get out of the bad situation. If so, the unifying elements were learning to cooperate and not for the glorification of the name of oneself or another and the forces of nature; Then, in view of wonder and humility in front of nature forces, the two decided to join forces and build a tower together.
