City of Tampa Celebrating First Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

TAMPA, Fla. (Saturday, May 11, 2024) – In honor of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month, Mayor Jane Castor and the City of Tampa will celebrate AAPI heritage and cultural diversity at the 2024 Tampa Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival. The vibrant and colorful festival will showcase and celebrate all things Asian and Pacific Islander in the heart of downtown Tampa. Open to the public, the community is invited to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park to immerse themselves in a spectacular afternoon and evening of incredible Asian cultural performances, mouthwatering delicacies, authentic Asian wares, fascinating informational exhibits, plus a beauty pageant and singing competition. Asian countries represented include Korea, Philippines, China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, India, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan and Malaysia as well as the Hawaiian and South Pacific Islands.

Organized by the Mayor’s Asian American Pacific Islander Advisory Council, the goal of the event is to showcase the beauty of all AAPI people and share their unique and rich culture and traditions present in our community.  Join us for Tampa’s biggest Asian Pacific Islander celebration of the year!
