The Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Program is a program sponsored and organized by the Japanese government to hire foreigners to teach in Japanese schools. This program was started in 1987 with the hopes of creating grass-roots ties between Japan and other nations, promoting globalization and cultural exchange.
After the JET Program, many alumni go on to use their experiences in Japan in their lives and jobs in a wide variety of fields. While many of us take jobs in fields not directly related to Japan, we continue to love and promote Japan and Japanese culture.
This year, on February 24, 2018, we will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the JET Program with a Reunion & Networking event in Orlando, Florida.
The event will include a panel discussion of JET and US-Japan relations, career development after JET, and a networking hour. Brunch will be included.
