Formosa Circus Art 2018 North America Tour – Our Home

The Formosa Circus Arts (FOCA) 2018 North American Tour – OUR HOME brings the modern culture and moving stories of Taiwan and its people to Gainesville at the Curtis M. Philips Center on May 14, 2018, at 7 PM. Admission to the performance is free.

Over the past 7 years, FOCA has traveled the world, performing in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Malaysia, Cambodia, Canada, and the United States.

“Formosa,” meaning beautiful, is often used as another name for Taiwan as it evokes the natural beauty and heritage of Taiwan. Named after the beautiful island, Formosa Circus Arts tells the story of Taiwan by bringing together Eastern traditional acrobatics, juggling, dance, drama, street culture and theater arts in a unique contemporary circus experience.

FOCA’s performance incorporates iconic music, representing significant events in the beautiful island’s history while also celebrating the culture, accomplishments, resilience, courage, and the hope of the Taiwanese people.
