The highly anticipated Formosa Mosaic showcase is coming this October! Co-hosted by the Atlanta Taiwanese-American Professional Association and U.S. nonprofit Spotlight Exchange, this event aims to foster artistic collaboration and cultural exchange between international artists.
Formosa Mosaic will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 4 PM at Amerasia Center (5210 W Colonial Dr #100, Orlando, FL 32808). Admission is free, but attendees are required to register in advance. Everyone is encouraged to join and experience this unique performance.
The show features three outstanding Taiwanese artists, blending traditional and modern elements in their work. Two of the artists trained at the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts, where they mastered traditional Chinese opera techniques. By incorporating contemporary elements, they breathe new life into this ancient art form. With handmade masks and costumes, they will take the audience on a journey through a fantastical world.
The event also includes a blind violinist who is skilled in both violin and the erhu, a traditional two-stringed instrument. Having won multiple competitions, he will deliver a performance unlike any other by merging his musical talent with dramatic character portrayals, creating a captivating and multi-sensory experience for the audience.
This showcase is not only a testament to the exceptional talent of Taiwanese artists but also a valuable opportunity for cross-cultural artistic exchange. It’s a must-see event for performing arts enthusiasts, and we encourage local residents to invite friends who are interested in Taiwanese culture to attend. Admission: Free, but registration is required. Register here (https://forms.gle/XB3pFMi13jKtiGwM9) or scan the QR code on the event flyer.
