Haru Matsuri is one the biggest events for J-Club in the spring semester. Come out and enjoy lots of fun festivities with J-Club. Haru Matsuri literally means spring festival. The Japanese carry out a lot of activities and events that traditionally were intended to pray for a new crop and to welcome the spring. With spring comes the blooming period, which for the Japanese means change, a new beginning. Instead of praying for new crops though, you can pray for good grades and finals exams.
There will be lots to do at Haru Matsuri! We will have a wishing tree which is a spring tradition in Japan of tying a piece of paper with a wish written on it. We will also have lots of food, raffles, and prizes! And you can dance the night away with Japanese music or play some games at one of the tables. We wouldn’t want you to leave empty handed either, so you can get your name or a quote written in Japanese characters at the calligraphy table by one of our skilled and talented calligraphers. On top of all the activities there will live performances of dancing, singing, demonstrations, and more!
Come join us at Haru Matsuri for a fun filled night of activities, entertainment, and food!
