8 ELEPHANTS & THE CANDY TREE

2113

Let’s enjoy reading another wonderful fable from ‘8 Elephants & A Dreaming Dragon’

THE CANDY TREE

8 elephants woke up in the dark and tried to find their way in the room and bumped into something.

The 1st elephant touched the Dragon’s foot and said: It feels like it is a honey cruller.

So the 8th said: No, no, no, it’s not.

Honey cruller doughnuts

The 2nd elephant licked the Dragon’s arm and said: It tastes like vanilla ice cream.

So the 8th said: No, no, no, it’s not.

The 3rd elephant smelled the Dragon’s belly and said: It smells like a chewing gum.

So the 8th said: No, no, no, it’s not.

The 4th elephant touched her tail and said: It feels as a long stretched toffee.

So the 8th said: No, no, no, it’s not.

The 5th elephant pulled her whiskers and said: It feels like a cotton candy.

So the 8th said: No, no, no, it’s not.

The 6th elephant touched her chicks and nose and then ears and said: It feels like Marshmallows, a chocolate cake and blueberry muffins.

So the 8th said: No, no, no, it’s not.

The 7th elephant touched her back and wings and said: It It feels like pineapples and bananas.

So the 8th said: No, no, no, it’s not.

The 8 elephants started arguing each who is right, when the Dreaming Dragon tried to stop them and said: I am a Dragon; it’s me, your friend.  But no one heard her.

All asked the 8th elephant: Please tell us, what is it then?

So the 8th elephant said: it must be a candy tree, let’s jump on it and eat it whole.

Wait! Wait! Wait!

It’s me, your friend, the Dragon.

The Dreaming Dragon opened one eye and then the other to see that there is not even one elephant there and went back to sleep.

‘Was it a dream or not?!’ thought the Dreaming Dragon and closed her eyes again.

The Dreaming Dragon opened one eye and then the other to see that there is not even one elephant there and went back to sleep.

Did you like these elephants? This parable obviously resolves the conflict, and is used to illustrate the principle of living in harmony with people who have different belief systems.

Morality and message:

  • Kids love candies and dragons love to dream.
  • Truth can be stated in different ways.

As we join together, forming networks of human concern about the future, we will find the strength and wisdom needed to create a better future for all.

Raising humanity on a new path

It all starts with YOU!
