On February 15th, Asia Trend proudly hosted the third annual Avalon SpringFest at Avalon Park Orlando, just one day before the 13th annual Central Florida Dragon Parade. It was an exhilarating weekend for Central Florida’s vibrant Asian communities as they joyously celebrated the Year of the Snake.

Experience the excitement of the family-friendly Lunar New Year festival, held at Avalon Town Park! This free event showcased a wide variety of entertainment options that delighted over 1500 attendees. From mesmerizing dragon and lion dances to thrilling kung fu and tai chi demonstrations, the festival was a feast for the senses. Japanese Taiko drumming, traditional Hanfu fashion shows, folk dances, and music from around the world added to the vibrant atmosphere. To top it off, over 40 vendors and food trucks offered authentic Asian SpringFest experiences, ensuring that everyone left with a full belly and a heart full of joy.

The festival was officially opened by distinguished guests including Orange County District 4 Commissioner Maribel Gomez Cordero, Shally Wong, Special Assistant to Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings, Stephanie Lerret, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Community Relations at Avalon Park Group, President of Asian American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Christine Berk, Overseas Community Affairs Secretary Steve Huang, President of Chinese American Association of Central Florida Ms. Pauline Ho, and Wah Lum Kung Fu Temple and Make Us Visible FL Director Sifu Mimi Chan. All performances took place on the Avalon Town Park main stage, which was hosted by  two talented emcees Amy Akamine, named as Orlando Magazine’s Woman of the Year 2023 and President of NAAAP Orlando and Ms. Onchantho Am, one of the Orlando Business Journal’s 40 under 40 recipients 2021 and the recipient of the Rising Phoenix Leadership Award at the 11th AACC Awards Gala.
