On May 17, Consul General Nakano attended the inaugural Japanese Heritage Night match hosted by Inter Miami CF.
The club’s first-ever Japanese Heritage Night brought together members of the local Japanese community and Japan-related guests, creating a lively and festive atmosphere throughout the stadium. Following the match, participants were invited onto the field for photo opportunities.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Inter Miami team and Japanese calligrapher based in Miami, Kisen @kisenmia, for their efforts in making this memorable event possible.
During the event, Consul General Nakano wore the Japan National Team jersey and promoted the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will also take place in Miami beginning next month. We sincerely hope for the Japan National Team’s great success in the tournament.

Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises host Japanese Heritage Nights to celebrate Japanese culture, honor local Japanese-American communities, and commemorate ties to Japanese baseball. Celebrations typically feature pre-game taiko drumming, live performances, specialty food menus, and exclusive, highly sought-after themed merchandise like custom jerseys.
