As fall has arrived, local Tampa Bay Chinese/ Taiwanese community celebrated the wonderful festival called “Mid Autumn (Moon) Festival” on September 21st, 2013. Each and every year, it attracts more than over 500 attendees to the Safety Harbor Community Center and marks the cornerstone of the celebration of the Moon Festival at the Tampa Bay area.
One of the highlights of the event was the famous Taiwanese Street Food Stalls provided by many non-profit organizations, such as Taiwan Box Lunch “嘉義鐵路便當” (From E.T. Foundation), Taiwan Shave Ice “刨冰” (From Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce – TCCTF), Homemade Chinese style Chicken roll “雞肉卷” (From Better and Beyond Dance Club), Leaf wrap sticky fry rice “粽子” (From Clearwater Chinese School), Pan fry dumpling “水煎包” (From SACA Dance Club – SSDC) and many more. This year, Tampa Bay Chinese High School student Linda Lin @ King High School and few others students rented a booth to fundraise for Relay For Life. It is wonderful to see young generation engaging in the Chinese cultural activity while giving back to the community.
