Art in Odd Places 2015/TONE Orlando presents its inaugural public visual and performance art festival, taking place from September 17-20, 2015 in Downtown Orlando on Magnolia Avenue between Anderson Street and Washington Street.
Art in Odd Places (AiOP) is an annual festival featuring performances, interventions, visual installations, video, sound and more in public spaces. It is a visual and performance public art festival that will engage and collaborate with the public and public spaces through artists of all disciplines, experiences and mediums.
The theme of TONE includes any gradient of TONE ranging from the notions of sound and color to character and skin tone. It aims to stretch the definitions of and expectations for visual and participatory boundaries by presenting artworks in all disciplines outside the confines of traditional public spaces.
Using Magnolia Street in Downtown Orlando as a laboratory, this project will inspire the popular imagination for new possibilities and engagement with civic space.
The inaugural event will feature 50 various works of art from artists around the globe.
