Wushu athlete Sun Chia-hung (孫家閎) on July 30 clinched Taiwan’s first gold of the 31st Summer Universiade in Chengdu, China, with victory in the men’s taijiquan.
Sun scored 9.693 points to finish ahead of Singapore’s Tay Yu Xuan in second, and Hong Kong’s Hui Tak Yan Samuei (許德恩) in third.
Sun’s first-place finish comes a day after securing silver in the taijijian, an event in which he lost to Hong Kong’s Hui by a mere 0.016 points.
