To celebrate, we’re highlighting a few of Japan’s popular cherry blossom destinations. Each year from mid-March through the beginning of May, the cherry blossoms (“sakura” in Japanese) bloom across the country, starting in the south. With the blooming of the flowers comes “hanami,” or cherry blossom viewing parties. It is a time for family and friends to get together and appreciate the beauty of nature.
