The University of Florida’s Filipino Student Association (UFFSA) annually celebrates Filipino American History Month (FAHM) which is a nationally recognized event. This year’s theme, “I Am Because We Are,” focuses on the central value of “pamilya,” or family, in Filipino culture. We take the opportunity to celebrate our ancestors and traditions in order to get closer to our roots while also looking forward to the future as Filipino Americans.
At the end of October, we celebrate our history with a Closing Ceremony. FAHM Closing is a way for us to end the month with a celebration of culture and festivities. Come to FAHM Closing on October 27th where we will be showcasing Filipino cultural dances, singing, and other performances!
This year we are also celebrating our 30th Anniversary of UFFSA. In order to celebrate our milestone, we are having a banquet with our current members as well as FSA Alumni where we will be serving a traditional Filipino dinner! Our banquet will bridge several generations of Filipinos into one location for one amazing night. Come celebrate our history with past and present FSA members. You do not want to miss a night filled with memories and stories!
