Asian Culture FestivalHOMESTEAD, Fla. (February 9, 2018) – The 28th Annual Asian Culture Festival returns to Fruit & Spice Park on Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.The fun-filled family event offers a virtual day trip to Asia featuring a variety of Asian arts, crafts, entertainment, plants and exotic cuisine.

Admission is $12 for adults, $5 for children ages six to 12 and free for children under six. Fruit and Spice Park is located at 24801 S.W. 187th Ave. in Homestead.

Organized by the Thai-American Association of South Florida, the Miami-Dade County Asian-American Advisory Board and Fruit & Spice Park, the Asian Culture Festival highlights the importance of cultural diversity and the role it plays in creating vibrant, prosperous and healthy communities.

Countries represented at the Asian Culture Festival include Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri-Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet, Turkey and Vietnam. Asian Culture Festival

At the Japan tent, sponsored by the Consulate-General of Japan in Miami, guests can try their hand at Ikebana (the art of Japanese flower arrangement), Origami (paper folding) and Japanese calligraphy. On the main stage, the Consulate is co-sponsoring Taiko drumming performances by Fushu Daiko, which thrills audiences with its thundering rhythms, dynamic movements and intense showmanship. Asian Culture Festival

Additional highlights include: folk dance, classical music and fruit and vegetable carving from Thailand; games and puppet shows from Malaysia; authentic Persian arts, literature, crafts and dance from Iran; a traditional Lion Dance from China and much more.

Fruit & Spice Park grows more than 500 varieties of sub-tropical fruits, herbs, spices, vegetables and nuts from around the world on 39 lush acres in the agricultural Redlands. The park offers daily tours, fruit tastings and naturalist-led workshops.
