The Sharing Center, a nonprofit organization in Longwood, Florida dedicated to preventing hunger and homelessness in the Central Florida area, is joining hands with others in the Seminole County community to spread hope and joy this holiday season. The Sharing Center opened its doors to the community thirty-four years ago and has been committed to serving our neighbors in need ever since. The mission of the organization, to provide essential resources to those in need while ensuring dignity, reflecting Christian generosity, and sharing God’s love, is evident through every program provided. These programs include The Oasis, which provides warm showers and laundry services to our neighbors in need, The Pantry, which is the largest free food pantry in Seminole County, a Thrift, Boutique, and Furniture Store, where 90% of the donations go back to preventing hunger and homelessness, Families in Crisis, which provides families with the relief and assistance they need for the burdens of poverty and food insecurity, and LifeBuilder, a 3-year program working one-on-one with families going from homeless to housed and reaching stability.

Families drove through a distribution line at The Sharing Center’s campus in Longwood and received their meal package filled with a turkey or a $10 Publix gift card, and all of the Thanksgiving meal fixings, such as stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and cranberry sauce. We at The Sharing Center are able to continue to serve the community and provide hope and healing with the support of the dignitaries present at this event.
