Enjoy simple pleasures. That, in essence, is the idea behind Japanese minimal retailer MUJI’s new project: MUJI HUT.
MUJI explained the idea behind its concept saying, “who hasn’t dreamt of living somewhere they really want to be? The tools to make that dream a reality are now available.”
“Put it in the mountains, near the ocean, or in a garden, and it immediately blends in with the surroundings, inviting you to a whole new life,” the brand continues. “This was the vision behind our radically new MUJI hut concept’.
The Muji Hut itself is a compact 9 square metres (97 square feet) in size. The Muji Hut is priced at US$27,228 (3 million yen), which includes construction costs. The Muji Hut will go on sale this fall, but only in Japan. Photos via
Who hasn’t dreamt of living somewhere they really want to be? The tools to make that dream a reality are now available. It’s not as dramatic as owning a house or a vacation home, but it’s not as basic as going on a trip. Put it in the mountains, near the ocean, or in a garden, and it immediately blends in with the surroundings, inviting you to a whole new life. This was the vision behind our radically new MUJI Hut concept. *There is no sales schedule outside Japan. #muji #無印良品 #無印 #mujihut #hut #tinyhouse #小屋
