GLOBAL TRIAGE

2661

Triage is the process of determining the priority of patients’ treatments based on the severity of their condition. This rations patient treatment efficiently when resources are insufficient for all to be treated immediately. The term comes from the French verb trier, meaning to separate, sift or select.

Our mother nature is sick, she is having a bad fever! Our society and environment are changing rapidly, and with all the global problems and risks, it feels as we are in a battle zone and there is no time and there is no going back. Can we be more effective in saving our sick mother?

A Global Triage – How To Set Priorities At The Global Level?

A Global Triage – Solving the world’s main challenges process:

  • Identify and order the problems by priorities
  • Ask the right questions
  • Focus on fixing the real problems and not their symptoms

WHAT IF… we filtered air pollution at the source?

“Air pollution has increased over the past 5 years; over 80% of inhabitants of urban areas are exposed to dangerous levels of air pollution.” – Stephen Hawking “Humans need to clean up their acts, our very future depends on it.” –

Over 6 Million people die annually due air pollution, making it one of the leading global risk factors for disease. Governments globally are trying to find solutions but most will fail…

“Vehicles are the most consistent source of pollution throughout the year unlike most others that are more variable. Vehicular fume is highly toxic.” – Centre for Science and Environment.

“By 2035, the number of vehicles on the road worldwide will double to 1.7 billion.” – International Energy Agency.

WHAT IF… we focused on R&D of cultured meat rather than become vegan (and tell our friends that they are ‘Murderers’ whom torture animals)?

By 2060, the human population is predicted to rise to 9.5 billion and, with a rising demand for meat from rapidly developing populations in, for example, China and India, the market in meat is expected to double by the middle of the century.

WHAT IF… we could reduce and eventually eliminate the environmental footprint of conventional animal agriculture, as well as the “moral footprint” of harm to non-human animal life?

Should we all go Vegan? The total biomass of our livestock is almost double that of the people on the planet and accounts for 5% of carbon dioxide emissions and 40% of methane emissions – a much more potent greenhouse gas.

With cultured meat, scientists can make meat production more efficient because they can keep all the variables under control. They also do not need to slaughter any cows.

WHAT IF… MacDonald was to lead the R&D and market introduction of cultured meat?

WHAT IF… we shared new moral stories to be told in schools?

We all agree that education is the future – the right kind of education is the future.

Wait! Wait! Wait! What does it mean the right kind of education?

In many schools it is still part of the curriculum to teach of “Us” versus “Them” rather than “We”.

WHAT IF… each could choose its education and personal learning path based on interest, talents and life design?

WHAT IF… students could learn anywhere, at their pace, listening to a teacher of their choice?

We all experience the change we undergo nowadays in education, focusing on the tools and the platforms – What about the culture?

We all experience the change we undergo nowadays in education, focusing on the tools and the platforms – What about the culture?

Educating future generations for love, altruism and adopting the global mindset is the future.

Educating future generations for gender and race equality, of protecting the earth and of exploring outer space is the future.

Stories, such as moral stories have the power to shape mankind’s destiny. How do you wish this story to end?
